  2. A $5.00 hanging fee will be charged per artists – if a piece does not sell, this fee will be returned to the artist at the end of the show.
  3. An agreement form will be signed by the artists when the piece is received, and when the piece or payment is returned to the artist.
  4. Each piece will have a silent auction form. Artists will set their own starting price and minimum bid. Bidding ends at 12:00 pm on Sunday, July 28th, 2019.

    The Ai-kon Artist’s Auction Rules:
  • Limit of one entry per person, due to space constraints. Submissions are on a first come, first serve basis.
We are able to take approximately 30 pieces at this time, though more space may be added.
  • Items in sets are ok, as long as they do not exceed 3 individual items and are auctioned as a set. (ie: a jewelry set of earrings, necklace and bracelet, or two plush of characters from the same series, or two complementary paintings of characters from the same series, etc.)
  • Artwork must be anime or Japanese culture-inspired (including games, history, fashion, etc.) in any medium, with the exception of food.
  • Fanart is acceptable.
  • No reproductions of existing works are permitted.
  • No “upcycled” materials – ie: toys, licensed fabrics, etc.
  • Sexually explicit or explicitly violent artwork is not permitted as the art will be displayed openly and this is an all-ages event.
  • If entering jewelry or accessories, the artist will need to provide their own display stands.
  • If entering a flat, 2D print or traditional piece, it is preferred that the piece is ready to hang (Float mounted is preferred. Anything with glass with be hung at the artist’s own risk.)
  • Artists must pick up unsold or unclaimed pieces by 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Artist Registration Desk. Any pieces not picked up by the original artist will be held onto until Winterfest 2020.
*Additional pickups may be available if coordinated with the Artist Coordinator/Marketplace Assistant. Any artwork not picked up by the close of the marketplace during Winterfest 2020 will become property of Ai-Kon and used as we see fit.

It is preferred that pieces put in the auction be one of a kind!
Digital art prints will be accepted, as long as only one has been made!

*A note to potential bidders: Failure to follow through on your winning bid may result in a ban from participating in future art auctions. This is at the discretion of the Artist’s Faire organizers.*
