Welcome to Ai-Kon 2024!

Ai-Kon Winnipeg is Manitoba’s premier anime, video game and Japanese culture convention. Our inclusive and diverse convention is one of the largest in western Canada and is being held this year at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg from July 12th through the 14th. Conveniently located in Downtown Winnipeg, Ai-Kon is dedicated to the celebration, appreciation, and enjoyment of Japanese animation, video games and culture. Thousands have attended Ai-Kon over the past 20 years for opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals who share their interests.

Our last in-person event had over 10,000 fans that came out to the RBC Convention Centre to spend their weekend with us.

As part of its mission, Ai-Kon brings fans together from across Canada by securing international guests from the anime and manga industry, such as voice actors Greg Ayres, Lex Lang, Bryce Papenbrook, Zach Aguilar, and Trina Nishimura. We have also invited fan favourites the 404s, and cosplay professionals Kitsurie and Alexandre is Fluffy. Some exciting content our attendees have come to love and enjoy included dance workshops, voice actor panels, drag performances, the Ai-Kon Maid Café, our video game lounge, round-the-clock anime viewing rooms with featured, exclusive screenings; our cosplay contest filled with amazingly talented cosplayers, a large Marketplace Hall selling innumerable amounts of pop culture merchandise and goods created by local artists, and so much more. In 2023, our Marketplace has grown to become the largest it has ever been, and we’re excited to be able to include the most artists, vendors, and exhibitors we’ve had since our humble beginnings at the University of Manitoba in 2001.

At Ai-Kon, one can expect to find amazing cosplayers who dress up as their favorite characters, one-of-a-kind events, concerts, dances, competitions, video gaming, and individuals of all backgrounds and ages who appreciate anime, video game and Japanese culture. The first child under 12 accompanied by a paying adult is free, with each additional child accompanying a paying adult costing $5.
