Welcome to Ai-Kon 2022!

Ai-Kon is the Manitoba’s premier anime, video game and Japanese culture convention! Not only that, but we are privileged to be one of the largest in western Canada. This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our main event at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg from July 22nd through the 24th, conveniently located in downtown Winnipeg. Ai-Kon is dedicated to the celebration, appreciation, and enjoyment of Japanese animation, video games and culture. Thousands have attended Ai-Kon over the past 20 years for opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals who share their interests.

Our last in-person event had over 5,900 fans came out to the RBC Convention Centre to spend their weekend with us.

As part of its mission, Ai-Kon brings fans together from across Canada by securing international guests from the anime and manga industry, which this year includes Rock M Sakura, Kaiji Tang, The 404s, Greg Ayres, Bryson Baugus, Veronica Taylor, Terry Hawkes, and Crunchyroll. Tried and true content our attendees have come to love and enjoy include dance workshops, Japanese cultural demonstrations, Japanese media-related panels, the Ai-Kon Maid Cafe, our video game lounge, round-the-clock anime viewing rooms with featured, exclusive screenings; our cosplay contest filled with amazingly talented cosplayers, a large Marketplace hall selling innumerable amounts of pop culture merchandise and goods created by local artists, and so much more.

At Ai-Kon, one can expect to find amazing cosplayers who dress up as their favorite characters, one-of-a-kind events, concerts, dances, competitions, video gaming, and individuals of all ages who appreciate different parts of the anime, video game and Japanese culture. The first child under 12 accompanied by a paying adult is free, with each additional child accompanying a paying adult costing $5.
